Revival
Frederick E. Twining opened his practice as
a Bacteriologist in Fresno in 1898. In 1945, Twining Laboratories was described
as "the most diversified laboratory for scientific research and testing in the
United States." The firm's slogan was "We test anything."
Charles E. Butner's design is a rare example,
in Fresno, of the Mediterranean Revival style adopted for a commercial
building. This building is in the National Register of Historic Places, and
