Dan Chamberlain was an enginee, who prior to coming to Fresno, worked on dams on the Mississippi River. He was an avid photographer and often hosted parties to share travel photos in the basement of this home. Following his death, Mary Chamberlain married architect Fred Swartz, who during the Depression was a member of the Allied Architects and worked on the design of the Fresno County Hall of Records and the Fresno Memorial Auditorium. This home was severely damaged by fire in 2016.
