This 1939 home was constructed by Roy Martin. At the time of its construction, original owner Floyd Harkness was the manager and owner of the United Packing Company, one of the largest fruit packing companies in the San Joaquin Valley. He was the director of the California Tree Fruit and Grape Associations as well as the Muscat Cooperative Wine Association. Molly Harkness graduated in the first class from Fresno Normal School (1913) and thereafter taught in several county schools.
