Henry Shields was a partner in the design-build firm of Trewhitt-Shields and Fisher. This 1936 home draws from an eclectic mix of stylistic sources including the Art Moderne and the Louisiana French townhouse. Henry Shields was involved in civic affairs, including his service as director of the Fresno Y.M.C.A. for twenty years. In 1959 Harold (Bud) Fine and his wife purchased the home. Harold Fine was partner in the realty firm of Billings and Fine.
