H.P. #211
Velvet Ice Cream Company
Building (1929)
1948-1950 Broadway
Period Revival (Venetian
influence)
This building is an excellent example of mixed-use Period Revival style. Properties of this type, operated by merchants who lived above their businesses, were once common building types in Fresno. Most were eliminated by mid-twentieth-century redevelopment, and this is one of finest survivors of its kind. The first floor of the building served as an ice cream manufacturing plant and ice cream shop.
