Hays HomeH.P. #254
Amazon S. Hays Home (1907)

330 N. Fulton Street
American Foursquare (Prairie/Classic Box)

This two-story home is a classic example of the American Foursquare type, also known as a "Prairie Box and "Classic Box," with Craftsman and Colonial Revival detailing. It was constructed in Fresno's first streetcar subdivision, North Park, which was developed in 1902 and quickly became the preferred neighborhood for many prominent businessmen and their families. The home was built for Amazon Sholls Hays and his wife Martha King Harris. Hays served for many years as a Vice-President and General Manager for the Fresno National Bank, which became a branch of the Bank of Italy and later the Bank of America.
