Fred & Virginia Billings Home
3650 E. Huntington Boulevard
Charles Butner, Architect
Easily the most impressive feature of this home is the main entrance, which is centered, inset, and protected by a decorative portico that is supported by four slender Corinthian-style columns.
Fred Billings went into real estate with Rhine Meyering, and in 1914 the partnership acquired and began to market the Alta Vista Tract (of which this home is a part). Billings was an important figure in local civic affairs: he served as the first chair of the County Planning Commission, the Director of the Fresno Chamber of Commerce, and was the Director of the Sanger Citrus Association.
